July 8th

We are counting down the days until we will join together as a team in Peru.  We are trusting God to give us unprecedented days of ministry but this will not be accomplished without calling out to God in prayer for His anointing and power.

Both Grace Church and Callao Church ( our sister church in Lima, Peru) began preparing through 33 Days of Prayer 2 weeks ago. Our Heavenly Father is worthy to be worshipped for He is a great and awesome God.  We ascribe to Him glory and strength; give Him the glory He deserves. We will be Serving Shoulder to Shoulder with this sister church and headquartered from their church building.

I thank the Lord for the challenging plan He has for those going on this missions trip to Peru.  This plan includes walking close to Him, helping others know and enjoy this same closeness.

Jeremiah 33:3  “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

Below are some specific prayer requests. As you can see, there is a lot of detail that is going into this trip. I hope you are feeling the excitement with me!

Prayer Focus

Prepared hearts in Peru – Pray for the thousands of people who will hear the gospel for the first time that their hearts will be prepared and open to receive the Good News.

Team Unity – Pray that we will support each other in love.  There will be many opportunities for Satan to attack us in this area.  Pray that we will stay strong.

Leadership Team – Pray for our core leaders, both on staff and volunteer, who are working long, intense hours to bring all the details together.

Housing, Meals & Water – Pray for hotel accommodations and room assignments, pray for menus, food being purchased and prepared, and pray for ample clean drinking water.

Technology – Pray for the equipment we will both bring with us and for equipment we will acquire to work with once on the ground in Peru.  Pray for the tech team and the many challenges they will face that may be frustrating and that God will give them unusual wisdom.

Journalism – Pray for those on our team who will represent our ministry to those back home while we are in Peru.  Pray for clarity, high interest items, good photos and for strength as they work on reports in the wee hours of the morning.

Good Communication – Pray that our team  will be able to clearly communicate the gospel – both verbally through translators and with our body language as we are guests in Peru.

Equipment will work – Pray over the many pieces of equipment we will be using in our programs and in the office.  This is a huge request!!!

Performing Arts – Pray for this team to have good interpersonal relationships and the Lord’s strength to perform well.

Music Teams – Pray for preparation as they learn music, for good memories – especially when singing in Spanish and pray that the Lord will use music to draw in and reach many for Christ.

AND

Flexibility – Pray that each one of us will have rigid flexibility.  As our days unfold in Peru, all of us will be called on to change the plan and go in a new direction at some point.  Pray that we will all be flexible and cooperative with our leadership and those on our teams.

Thank you for reading & praying! You don't know what it means to me to have you supporting me in this!

June 10th:

  1. For each team member as they “sharpen” their evangelism skills and prepare their personal testimony.
  2. For the price of jet fuel to level out and not impact flights or flight schedules.
  3. Protection,  both here and in Peru.  Satan isn’t going to like this outreach because he knows the victory that the Lord gives to Spirit-filled Christians.
  4. For the success of the transportation and logistics team in making plane reservations and working out other “travel” and venue details.
  5. For team members to be able to speedily receive their passports and other needed documentation.

May 4th:
Many of my school year committments have finished for the summer, and I want to commit more time in prayer in preparation specifically for this trip. Please pray that I am more diliberate in setting aside time to pray for the Peru Missions Trip myself and that I consider more regular fasting.

Please pray that I become more comfortable with the EvangeCube and the Rope Illustration as a means to share the Gospel.

I want to be culturally sensitive and gracious and respectful with the Peruvian people. Pray that my eyes are opened to this and that I can represent a humble servant of God.

April 6th:
The costs of the flights contiue to rise. Please pray that they can be contained so that those who are going will be able to raise their support. Also pray that I will claim the promises that God gives me in the Bible.

My overall prayer personal requests are:

  • Safe travel and good health for the entire trip – for me and for the whole Grace Church team.
  • That I would be able to communicate the love of Jesus to the Peru people and that I would have opportunities to lead others to a saving faith.
  • That I would personally grow in my understanding of how oversees missions impact lives and that I would be more consistent in praying for different people groups all over the world.

Prayer requests for the Whole Group:

  1. Protection, both here and in Peru. Satan isn’t going to like this outreach because he knows the victory that the Lord gives to Spirit-filled Christians
  2. For successful communication between the staff of Grace Church and Callao Church in how we can be of service to them.
  3. For the success of the transportation and logistics team in making plane reservations and working out other “travel” and venue details.
  4. For team members to be able to speedily receive their passports and other needed documentation.
